STARTS WITH
PURPOSE.
The Leadership Summit is Downtown Showdown’s Thursday evening opening experience, bringing athletes together before tournament competition begins.
Through a hosted meal, speaker conversations and team-building, the evening connects girls flag football to the skills that help a student-athlete thrive: communication, accountability, confidence and connection.
It reflects Tampa Prep’s commitment to developing the complete student-athlete. The way we compete matters. So does the way we lead, learn and lift up the people around us.

THAT STAYS WITH YOU.
The program is being developed around four connected experiences.
Hear from leaders.
Speaker and athlete conversations will explore confidence, responsibility and the women helping move the game forward. The focus is on lessons athletes can use in their own lives.
Practice being a teammate.
Team-building and guided conversations are designed to help athletes listen, communicate clearly, support one another and respond to challenges with purpose.
Bring the lessons to the field.
Athletes will be encouraged to identify a leadership habit to practice during the tournament and carry back to their teams, classrooms and communities.
The final agenda and speaker lineup will be shared as details are confirmed.

The Summit builds dedicated time for personal growth into the tournament experience. Thursday’s conversations give athletes a shared foundation; Friday and Saturday offer the chance to put those lessons into practice under pressure.

Encouraging athletes to ask questions, speak up and take ownership of how they contribute to a team.
Connection across teams
Creating space to meet the people behind the opposing jerseys and build respect within the girls flag football community.
Lessons that travel home
Making communication, accountability and support for others part of what athletes take away from the weekend.
